More than 600 participants registered for the SkyRun charity stair running competition

Bucharest, November 10, 2023 – SkyTower Bucharest launched in September a special edition of the well-known SKYRUN, a stair-running competition this time involving 700 steps to climb up to the 35th floor of the tower.

SkyRun2023 kicks off on 11 November 2023 at 11:11 a.m. when over 600 participants will compete for 54 cups and prizes. Although initially the SkyRun 2023 competition was announced and scheduled for only 500 people, due to the high demand for participation, the places have been increased by another 120, so that this Saturday morning 620 runners will be present at the start.

The cause supported by SkyTower in this special SKY’S THE LIMIT edition of the SkyRun is Climb Again. Thus, at the end of the competition, all SkyRun2023 registration fees will be donated to the Climb Again Association, a non-profit organization that builds and operates climbing centers where climbing therapy sessions are organized for children and teens with various types of disabilities, especially visual and neuromotor impairments. Climb Again beneficiaries participate in the Paralympic Olympics every year, and they’ve also put together a team for Saturday’s SkyRun2023.

SkyTower Bucharest is organizing the SkyRun after a 7-year pause. In the past, three SkyRun editions were organized up to the 34th floor of the tower, the most recent one in January 2016, when the charity competition gathered almost 1000 runners.

The record time across all SkyRun editions so far belonged to Florin Munteanu and was 2 minutes and 51 seconds for climbing 680 steps up to the 34th floor of the tower.

This year, SkyTower gathered around SkyRun2023 a diverse range of partners, both tower tenants and renowned retailers, who either provided prizes or contributed to each participant’s kit.

The main partner of the SkyRun2023 competition is NUTRIPLUS, a brand of SkyTower’s tenant Farmasi, who will offer surprise products to all participants and especially to the winners. The other key partners of the competition are Penny, World Class, Acqua Carpatica, Tinmar Energy, Raiffeisen Bank, Workspace Studio, Raiffeisen Leasing, Credit Amanet, and EnergyPal.

SkyTower’s organization partners for this edition of SkyRun are To Be Group and SmartAtletic.

“We are extremely pleased to have found the inspiration and resources to organise this special SkyRun2023 edition as part of the SKY’S THE LIMIT program, especially since we now know that we will not be able to repeat this type of competition in the coming years because we have already leased the entire 35th floor after a very short vacancy. We only had this short time frame opportunity, and we are immensely happy that so many people signed up over the originally approved limit,”
